Welcome

At Amphora the goal of therapy is to come along side when you find yourself in the midst of confusion or chaos, to help you achieve a life lived to the fullest. So many times, circumstances, life events/transitions, stress or trauma weighs us down and the burden feels too heavy to carry alone. We miss out on so much joy, the abundant life we are called to. I would love the opportunity to walk along side you during these times, to provide the encouragement, hope and help you need.

2 Corinthians:4 states, “ we now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” As believers, we are compared to fragile jars of clay on the outside, but on the inside we are filled with a light and power that is not our own. There is a great treasure within us. We all have this in us, but sometimes we need reminders and help refocusing on that power.

The verses continue, “we are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.”
In this world we are surrounded by pain, suffering and hardships; it is a fact. Troubles come, burdens seem too heavy, we may become confused or even get knocked down. Despite all of this, we will not be crushed, driven to despair, destroyed or abandoned by God. These are promises that we can cling to.

We are all fragile clay jars that sometimes feel the pressure and burdens of this world, often feel like we may give out or be worn thin but we need to continue to tap what is inside: the light and power. Amphora is a greek title for a clay jar with handles on both sides for carrying. The jar has handles which allude to the fact that when it is being carried, to fulfill its purpose as a clay jar, it has the help of at least one, often two people, bearing the weight. I would love to take hold of a handle and help you carry the weight. I would consider it an honor.
